Expert diagnostic system “DIAES”

The system «DIAES» allows to determine the technical state of pumps, compressors, fans, turbines, rolling mills drives, gear units, peripheral and associated equipment in the process of normal operation.

Since 1992 various modifications of portable expert diagnostic systems, developed by JSC "PromServis", were successfully implemented at industrial enterprises. This long-term operation gave us a considerable experience regarding statistical signs and diagnostic rules of faults determination in rotating equipment.

The "DIAES" system includes:

  • a spectrum analyzer for measurement of signals, spectra and spectral envelopes of vibration acceleration;
  • specialized software, developed by JSC "PromServis".

At the moment several types of spectrum analyzers are connected to the system:

Principal feature of the "DIAES" systems, developed by JSC "PromServis", is determination of a state of all machine nodes and blocks as a unit, i.e. taking into account their influence on each other. This allows not only to detect faults and predict their development, but also to identify their original causes at further analysis.

The system is able to detect faults at initial stage and to trace their development.

The list of diagnosable faults includes:

  1. Shafts imbalance;
  2. Shafts misalignment;
  3. Defects of sleeve bearings (oil whirl of shafts, misadjustment and wear of bushing, etc);
  4. Defects of rolling bearings: (wear of outer and inner races, defect of outer and inner races, wear and defects of cage and rollers, irregular radial tightness, turning of bearing, etc);
  5. Defects in gear transmissions (defects of teeth at shafts, defect of gearing);
  6. Looseness of assemblies on basements;
  7. Lack of stiffness of a bearing support;
  8. Defects and imbalance of couplings;
  9. Defects of rotor wheels (defect of blades, eccentricity of clearance, cavitation, recirculation);
  10. Defects of electromagnetic system in electric machines (stator winding defect, lamination of active steel end blocks in stator core, eccentricity of clearance between rotor and stator, winding shorting or break in wound rotor; axes or rotor misalignment, etc);
  11. Belt drive defects (loosening of belt tension; pulley eccentricity and misalignment).

Results of diagnostics are reported in the form of protocols, reports and vibration passports, form of every document can be selected from list of templates or customized.

The system has a network version with possibility of installation of additional workplaces for managers and concerned specialists.

Besides automatic mode of diagnosis setting, the system provides a complete range of opportunities for visual analysis and comparison of measurement results, with specification of calculated values of diagnostic parameters and characteristic frequencies of defects signs.

Experienced users can create independently their own rules of calculation of vibroacoustic characteristics and determine new diagnostic parameters, used for detection of faults.

On the basis of results of several measurements the system can predict a state of diagnosed equipment for a certain period, for example, till next maintenance and repair. The system also defines a recommended date of next inspection, traces development of defects, generates list of requires repair operations.

Introduction of expert diagnostic system "DIAES", manufactured by JSC "PromServis", allows to start maintenance based on actual state of equipment, instead of maintenance "upon failure" or "according to schedule".

This provides significant economic benefits due to:

  • prevention of sudden emergencies (failures) and downtime of equipment;
  • early fault detection and timely prevention of defects development;
  • cancellation of routine repairs of operable equipment;
  • proper planningof repair works and accurate calculation of consumables at scheduled maintenance;
