Vibration monitoring system VIES

Download VIES presentation here

VIES and route vibration meter are basis of vibration monitoring of equipment.

Monitoring of a vibration state of the principal equipment is an essential feature of increasing production profitability and safety at large industrial enterprises. As technology is developing and more reliable information is required, the necessity in measurement process automation by means of portable vibration meters (vibrometers) is growing.

JSC "PromServis" has developed the vibrometer VM-710 that has a large built-in memory and is capable to take measurements of vibration according to a preset route. The measured values of RMS of vibration, range of vibration displacement and amplitude of vibration acceleration are registered in memory of the instrument and can be stored in PC with installed specialized software VIES. Its distinctive feature is that points of measurement are physically linked with a name of machine, number of a bearing support and a direction of measurement - thishelps an operator not to get confused in sequence and positions of data acquisition. Reliability of information increases as there is no need to remember or write down received values and points of measurement. The structure of vibration diagnostic system VIES is shown in the figure.

In standard operation mode it is recommended to take measurements from each group of machines with a separate device with preset route for periodical monitoring of vibration.

The operator uploads measured data to PC with an arranged periodicity if all parameters are within the preset limits. When it is necessary, additional measurements can be added to the list of routes.

Manual mode of measurements is available also.

VIES-VM systems are delivered with all required settings, agreed with a Customer, and are ready for application.

The procedure of operation:

Step 1.An operator or specialist of technical diagnostics service defines a list of machines to be checked and prepares a route for the device.

All routes are uploaded into the instrument with specification of names of machines and points. The prepared vibrometers are forwarded to houses of the enterprise.

Step2.A responsible specialist takes measurements onobjects according to a route. Values of parameters, received in the selected points are promptly compared with values of presetalarm thresholds, and a figure of an appropriate color (green, yellow orred) is displayed on the screen. In case of necessity it is possible to take measurements in extra route points, or use the device as a usual vibrometer.

Step3.The operator periodically transfers the measured data from the analyzer to a PC. After successful reception of data, they are automatically saved to archive of the program and sorted according to names of machines.

Step4. The operator checks values of parameters, trends of vibration on measurement points, receives reports about state of machine on one or several dates. If necessary, he carries out diagnostics basing on general vibration values or starts comprehensive survey by means ofspectrum analyzers and expert diagnostic systems.

Besides the automatic mode of data processing, the program provides a complete range of opportunities for visual analysis and comparison of measurements results in the form of diagrams, reports or tables of values, etc.

The VIES system is notable for its flexible organization. Unlimited number of vibrometers can operate with the same software.

The program also allows to load several different routes in the same device. So, a specialist of technical supervision department can enter various tasks for inspection or control measurements in each of route and use a device with any equipment.

Measurement and analysis of profile maps is realized in the system. Route of this type canbe created for any machine in several variants.

Advantages of the expert system VIES:

  • Economical cost: a vibrometer is the only special equipment required for operation;
  • Combination of scheduled tasks and new opportunities: electronic log of vibration measurements, express-evaluation of received values and, as a result, maintenance of operational parameterswithin the preset limits.
  • Mobility: surveys of machines are executed along routes. This allows to detect a defect timely and promptly take measures for its elimination;
  • Openness: data of surveys can be easily exported to enterprise information systems;
  • Possibility to use profile maps for specification of sources and reasons of faults.
  • Application of the route vibrometer allows to arrange and simplify the process of vibration-based monitoring of equipment state due to creation of standard routes of measurements.

Due to higher capacity operation of data at storage in PC, scheduled measurements give higher return with similar labor expenses.
